Onceyour vehicle has cooled down, you can check under the hood and see if the cooling fan is properly spinning. With jumper wires, you can hook up one end to the negative terminal and one end to the positive terminal of your car battery. Use the other side with their respective terminals on the fan motor. These motors have very sharp blades
Thestarter relay sits in a relay panel above the glove compartment. You have to remove the glove box and drop it down. The relay panel looks like this little white storage tray, and it has 4 relays in it - a tall black one in the back, and three short white ones in front. The starter relay is the short white one furthest to the left. 1 Blown fuse (either the high amp fuse to the compressor or the low amp fuse from the dash) 2. Low or High freon pressure (too high or too low of a pressure reading will trip an internal switch not allowing the compressor to engage, thus saving the compressor from damage) 3. Itis not the easiest part to access on your BMW E53 X5 with an M62 8cylinder engine. Figure 2 Start by removing the starter heat shield. Remove the three 10mm fasteners (red arrows). Figure 3 Then remove the heat shield (red arrow). Feed the forward facing part of the shield down and remove it.
Thefuel pump relay is a green 2 inch cube located in the trunk of the car. Open the trunk, on right hand side, there will be a panel that you can pull off. Lift the sponge cover and it will be right there. No there isn't one located there so I don't think Diesels have one. It has to be the EKP module.
Theaverage ignition relay replacement cost is between $15 and $100, depending on the car model and labor costs. An ignition relay costs $5 to $50, and labor costs $10 to $50. The ignition relay itself is often very cheap, and you can expect it to cost under $10, depending on if you want to buy an OEM original one or aftermarket. An8unOl.
